      Graduate Engineer Interview

      3 Apr 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Cambridge, England
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Arm (Cambridge, England)

      Interview

After two rounds of interview (HireVue and virtual Zoom meeting), I got the verbal offer and accepted during the call. The offer was retracted one week after. The recruiter told me it was due to export controls and my nationality. I think he meant security clearance, but he did not phrase it properly. The time I spent preparing for and doing the interviews was wasted, and this could have been avoided by stating the requirements (nationality) clearly in the job description. The recruiter later told me other teams would like to interview me and he would send me the HireVue link next week. Never got updates from him afterwards. I did not push him for any updates/actions and I did not get too upset about the offer being retracted, but his incompetence for communication was very disappointing. Ghosting is very unprofessional, especially for a candidate who already got the offer.

If you feel you weren’t treated fairly or didn’t have the chance to share your side, we’d like to understand more. Please get in touch with the team at globalrecruitmentenquiries@arm.com.
