I applied online. I interviewed at AssemblyAI (Melbourne) in Dec 2025
Interview
I had a 30-minute call with HR who said I'd need to do like 4 or 5 more interviews, plus a take-home test and shadow an actual support engineer for an hour. They rejected me the next day, but honestly I dodged a bullet there. Ain't no way I wanted to jump through all those hoops.

I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AssemblyAI (Milan) in Dec 2023
Interview
I was contacted from AssemblyAI HR in mid december and I had the first two interviews (a soft skill and a coding interview) the following week. After the holiday season I had the last two interviews (system design and a team panel) and after a couple of days I got the offer. The process was super smooth and without the holidays season it probably would have taken at most a couple of weeks (instead of the month it took). The interviewers were super fine and helpful, and I felt like I had a chat with peers rather than been interviewed.
