I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Astra (Alameda, CA) in Dec 2021
Interview
Warning to applicants that aren't white or asian men: I was contacted by a recruiter regarding a mid-level engineering position and it sounded good. When asked to signup for an interview slot online, I was sent a link to sign up for an interview for a Senior level position. I thought it was probably a mistake, signed up for an interview slot anyway, and notified the person in HR (who had sent me the link) that I had been sent the wrong link and asked if I should make a change. I didn't hear back. During the on-site interview, it became clear that I wasn't interviewing for the mid-level position but rather the Senior level position that I certainly didn't qualify for in terms of level of experience. When I said to the interviewers that my understanding was that I was interviewing for a mid-level position, they looked sheepish and uncomfortable. Since I am not a white or asian man, I was interviewed (more like USED) so they could say they interviewed a "diverse" pool of applicants. They never had any intention of truly interviewing me for the position I would have qualified for. Discovering that you are being interviewed under false pretenses during the interview is demoralizing. I would never consider a position at this company under any circumstances.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Astra (Gothenburg, Västra Götaland) in Feb 2014
Interview
Short telephone interview with behavioural and motivational questions. Very nice and easy-going interview, where they mostly tried to point out the importance of having an interest in Astra and the industry.
