In-person interview follows an HR screen and a phone interview with the Director of Flight Operations. The in-person interview involves the candidate delivering a 20-minute seminar on something they have direct working knowledge of in order to help the team assess communication skills and generate discussion topics for the interview. This presentation is normally given to 8-10 people, all of whom work in flight test with the company. The remainder of the interview was a series of Q&A sessions with various two-person teams within the flight department, and included a company lunch. Due to the number of group sessions, this is a fairly long interview at around 6-7 hours. Additionally, the specific nature of preparing a lecture from the candidate's own experience makes it a more challenging interview than some companies. However, the company does a good job of keeping things personable and conversational throughout the process.
