I applied online. I interviewed at Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (Sydney) in May 2026
Interview
In person interview. 30 minute written assessment:
- 1st half economics intuition [in prudential context] around trends & concern to APRA
- 2nd half more presentation based (interpreting a few pages of information and deducing main points)
The second half of the interview was face-to-face with a field specialist & talent acquisition member. You discuss the assessment, review your answers + reasoning & approach, then have a comfortable interview discussing behavioural & personal responses.
It was honestly a great experience, the interview team members were so lovely and provided a great representation on what life at APRA may look life. The assessment section felt like a good chance to display your knowledge and approaches.
They will contact you on result, I'll find out by end of week so fingers crossed.

Question 1
Various questions around you personally, why APRA, times you dealt with difficulty working in a team, etc.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (Brisbane) in Apr 2021
Interview
The interview process was very thorough, there was an initial application, then cognitive testing, then an assessment centre including a group interview, and then finally an individual interview. Unfortunately I made it to the end but was not ultimately chosen, which is the worst part of the process - while it was all run very smoothly and efficiently, it takes several months to complete the whole process, so is a lot of time and stress only to fail at the finish line. They do not give individual feedback due to the volume of applicants.

It was all on Zoom due to Covid, usually in person I gather. There was an individual interview with an HR person and someone from the data field I was interested in, an individual assessment, a group interview and a group assessment
