      Sales Manager Interview

      20 Mar 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Seattle, WA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AutoNation (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2015

      Interview

Sent in a resume online, called to follow up on it a day later and was invited in for a interview at the store level. After meeting the store GM we reviewed both what the store needed and what I could do to contribute to the stores goals. After this interview I met with the regional president. This interview was borderline laughable. It started with the person I was supposed to meet having now idea and turning me away because he was busy, only to call me back about 20 minutes later to have me come back for the interview. From there standard interview questions for someone applying for a management job, once I was offered a job I had to do a personality test, background test, and drug screening. From there it was about a week wait then reported back for orientation.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at AutoNation (Tampa, FL)

      Interview

Met with manager, who immediately went into a dissertation as to why I should simply sell cars, and work my way back up the ladder. Discussed how Autonation was marketing to the recent college graduate. Not sure if the message was I was too old? I listened to how the company hired "cute young girls" for the delivery process... asked me "who wouldn't want a cute young girl delivering their new Mercedes" um? Me... I was passed around several managers who all actively sought to end the interview as fast as possible, no females in management ...

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

nothing regarding the job or my skills, just a discussion on age, and the "cuteness" of various females on board
