I first got a phone screening from HR and had a great conversation, and then I was scheduled for a second interview with one of the hiring manager. The second interview was a one-hour video chat. The questions asked require textbook-like answers, but the interviewer was very patient and willing to guide the interviewee in the right direction. After that, I was scheduled for a on-site interview with another hiring manager and it turned out to be a horrible experience. There were more difficult questions and those were not on the job description. To be specific, they didn't mention machine learning on the job description, but I got many questions about machine learning. Luckily, I was able to answer most of the questions. The third interviewer was rude. He cursed several times on his laptop during the interview and rolled his eyes to my questions and answers. He kept questioning the value of my previous work, which was highly appreciated by my previous supervisors. At the end of the interview, he explicitly expressed that he was never going to hire me because of my degree, which was a misunderstanding based on his knowledge about my field. I tried to explain but he was not learning. I followed up with the HR one week after, but even the HR ghosted me and I haven't heard back from them since.
