I was contacted through the internet to arrange a phone interview. I made plans to have the phone interview and was later sent an email that she was busy. I sat with the phone for 30 minutes until I checked my email to see that she had emailed me over an hour before to cancel. She was really nice and when you are looking for work you also want to be easy going as well. Then it happened again:( Finally I did get to the next person for a 1:1 interview for the assistant management position. I drove quite far to meet at a mall that was far away from my house. I am college educated and also have higher education, I felt it would be exciting to bring my talents and personal ability to build relationships with a multi generational brand. The brand I interview for was the BCBGeneration was geared towards 20 to 30 years olds. Even though I am older I feel that a diverse work environment brings great results. I was then asked what my "brand fit" was? I have been wearing the brand since the 90's and answered honestly of course that it was BCBG maxazria. I also have an extensive sales background and store assistant management would be the next step to my career. I heard back that they wanted me to interview with the BGBG Maxazria brand. So I arranged another 1:1 interview with their store manager. Thinking of course that it would be for the title of the position that I first applied for as assistant management. I had received such nice emails from their home office saying we are all on the same page! I was so excited! I then met with the store manager and she was wonderful and someone who understood my experience and what I would be bringing to their brand. They wanted to focus on personal client relationship building which is my strong point. Then during the interview I hear that I am not interviewing for a assistant management position! I was so disappointed by this! It was for a stylist position, which I would have still also considered if the pay matched what I was making at my last job. She was only looking for stylists and had many assistant managers. I was so sad to hear this news I got dressed up and planned so much for the interview only to find out that it was not comparable to my last job. I wish that was relayed to me at some point so I could have thanked them and not continued the process.
