I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Bank of the West (San Ramon, CA) in Feb 2020
Interview
Red Flags!! It was an odd, slow and confusing process lasting for months. Bank of West uses this third-party recruiting company to call you and schedule all the interviews. I had one phone technique interview and four video (technical/behavioral) interviews due to COVID-19. Expect for the main hiring manager, all other people seemed having no clue on what they are doing or asking. The interviews felt like interrogation. They were emotionless. One of them seemed to pull a list of questions that he just googled. They were not professional on video interviews because they didn’t turn on their screen. So it’s one-side screen interview. The process lasted for months and all you got was silence. Their recruiters were obviously spoiled and didn’t bother to send you any updates or anything.
Also, I was watching the reviews closely on Glassdoor while job hunting. Another person posted a very negative interview review here for Bank of West also in 2020 and now it was removed.
A few suggestions although no one may care - hire professional recruiters, prepare for the interview on your side and learn to respect the candidates. No one is begging you for a job. It’s always a two-side choice.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Bank of the West (Omaha, NE) in Oct 2016
Interview
Went through 2 separate interviews with the hiring manager and different members of the BU. Interviews were conducted casually in a conference room, and were not intimidating. Questions were thought provoking and assisted in grasping knowledge base and fit.
