I reviewed the experience of "Head of Cybersecurity" on LinkedIn and he has zero experience in cybersecurity, yet he succeded to be the "Head of Security" which iimplies that it is possibly a fake title or a title that is not earned in honest ways, they put him into my technical interview. During the technical interview (the second round, after the recruiter) he was late about 5-10 minutes to the meeting. When he finally came I requested him to speak english because I feel more comfortable in english and this is a position for an American company, but he rejected and kept speaking spanish. Then, he talked about my resume and extensive experience in application security. But he didn't ask any realistic technical questions related to position, I constantly asked myself that I'm losing time with this company. The person who came to technical interview is definitely not a technical person and he lacks technical skills that is needed for his position, because working in this field for over 10 years, he was not even close to person I would consider junior but keeping a title of "Head of Cybersecurity". They requested me to have direct experience in Salesforce, ignoring all my security experience and knowledge and focusing on single SaaS tool that is not remotely or closely related to cybersecurity, this was their feedback and a "reason" behind rejecting the process. I don't know who makes business with this company but their hiring process is very bad and they have absolute zero knowledge about cybersecurity which directly implies business risks, continuity and security. I would be sceptical with someone they hired for a security position due tio unprofessional and unrelated interview process they make to decide who is capable of working in this field. The questions were very generic; it was definitely not what I expected. The person who made the interview (head of cybersecurity) hesitated to ask me deeper level, more security related questions because we both knew he had no idea about the role.. It was one of the most silent and unprofessional interviews I have ever had and 30 minutes interview ended early because he couldn't properly managed what to ask and how to perform the interview for a senior engineer.
