      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Baylor Genetics (Houston, TX)

      Interview

I did a three round interview. I’m now waiting to hear back after the third interview. Each conversation was a short teams call. The first was with HR, the second was with department supervisor, and the third was with department director.

      Question 1

Questions were primarily about different scenarios and past experience.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Baylor Genetics (Houston, TX) in Apr 2016

      Interview

I applied to a job posting on the company's career website and I communicated with an HR representative from Baylor-Miraca by email and we arranged a time for me to come in for an in-person interview. I spoke with six people sequentially and the overall interview lasted about 2.5 hours. One part that was frustrating was that I felt an interviewer cast doubt that I would be able to stay at the job for an appreciable amount of time because the job involves routine work, and the interviewer would not accept my view that I tolerate routine work because I have performed routine work in many other settings. I got the feeling I wouldn't be a good fit personality-wise even though I think I could clearly carry out the job duties associated with the position, based on my past experience and education. I was told that I would be contacted regarding the outcome of my interview, but I was never contacted.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Please describe your past experience and education. How long would you like to stay with the organization? Do you think you could tolerate a job that is mostly routine tasks? In past employment, what is one thing you wish you'd done differently? What would your current supervisor say about you? One interviewer asked some specific questions about lab procedures. One interviewer asked about a scientific paper I authored.
