After applying through an internal referral to the role, I got an interview with the recruiter about a week later. The recruiter was 3 minutes late, and the interview felt like an interrogation. No effort was made on the recruiter's end to build a connection with me. It felt like she was in a rush and wanted to get it over with. I could also hear some Teams notifications coming in the background on her end, which I found to be extremely rude. She asked a grand total of 5 questions: - Tell me about yourself - What do you know about Behaviour - Tell me about a project that you worked on that you are proud of - Are you okay with the fact that the people you will be managing won't be your direct reports - What are your salary expectations These were all questions I had anticipated. I felt like the answers I had prepared were delivered in a way that effectively reflected my research and preparation, in addition to matching my experience with what they were looking for. She then said that she would get back to me early next week. She didn't. I ended up following up the following week (I gave her the benefit of the doubt since there were two statutory holidays). Following my email, she responded saying that I had not been selected for the next steps, without giving a reason. To be honest, I was quite surprised, because I felt I did a good job at matching my skills and experience to the job description, and demonstrating that I had done my research properly.
