I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at BetterUp (Toronto, ON) in Sept 2021
Interview
I received lots of emails asking to participate of the hiring process, so I decided to give it a try.
The process started with the HR call to talk about my previous experience, salary expectations and about the company. Then she scheduled 2 interviews in the same week. One with the hiring manager and other one with an engineer to make a collaborative pair programming.
The interview with the hiring manager turns out that it was actually a tech interview with another engineer, which made me a lot of questions about various topics like automation, docker, single-page applications, and other topics. I answered all of them, but I was not prepared for it, once I was expecting an interview with the hiring manager.
The second one was the pair programming. The guy who interviewed me already started very serious and didn’t seem so happy to be there. He asked if the recruiter sent me the link for the github repo, which I answered no, because nobody sent me anything. The thing is that they supposed to send me the code before and the description of the challenge, what didn’t happen. I could finish the test, but the code was not perfect. I guess the guy completely ignored that I was in disadvantage in comparison to the other candidates who had received the instructions properly.
In the end I received a generic copy/paste rejection letter without any kind of feedback.

Question 1
Tell me an advantage and one disadvantage of single-page applications. What should you do if you needed to create an MVP application? What do you bring to the team?
