I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at BioCatch (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Jan 2021
Interview
Interviewed using zoom during covid, the interview itself wasn't hard but a total waste of time, the team lead who interviewed me was too busy taking calls and answering slack during the interview, to the point of me talking to myself for several minutes while he was speaking to this team, SO RUDE! at one point I waited over a minutes for him to address my answer or say anything. I've interviewed a lot during my career, never had I met such an unprofessional hiring process to the point of being offensive.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Describe a project you worked on, what did you learn.
2. Design a system.
3. Algo questions
The interview process was disorganized and unprofessional. After speaking with the recruiter, I was left with very little information about the company’s technologies and structure. I was assured that a 15-minute call would provide all the necessary details, and I confirmed twice that there would be no technical questions.
However, the call ended up lasting *45 minutes*, which felt like a disregard for my time. The connection was unstable, with frequent disconnections, making it difficult to communicate. Despite being told there wouldn’t be technical questions, I was unexpectedly asked several, most of which were irrelevant to my experience. Additionally, one React-related question was incorrectly explained by the interviewer, raising concerns about the interviewers’ technical knowledge.
Overall, the process lacked transparency, professionalism, and respect for the candidate’s time. Clearer communication and better preparation from the interviewers would greatly improve the experience.
