Interviewing with BPI was disappointing, especially for an organization that claims to lead on sustainability and climate solutions. There was no sign of diversity at any level of the process. It was surprising and disheartening to see in 2025, given the values they promote publicly.
When I asked about DEI initiatives, the interviewers became defensive and struggled to provide even a basic answer. The team also came across as inexperienced (“green” in more ways than one) and unprepared to have deeper conversations about equity in climate work.
BPI’s mission sounds progressive on paper, but their hiring experience told a different story, one that lacked transparency, representation, and genuine commitment to inclusion.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Biodegradable Products Institute
Interview
My experience is similar to the other interview review posted here. I interviewed for the Certification Project Manager role, and despite asking for follow ups, which they said they would give me an update "soon" on (they claimed they were set back by organizational changes), I waited for four months of ghosting to finally receive a no. I already knew this before they bothered to get back to me because I saw on their website they had filled the position.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Biodegradable Products Institute in Oct 2025
Interview
I had a pretty standard initial video interview with two senior-level managers from BPI. Unfortunately, I was ghosted afterwards despite them promising to follow-up within a week. My follow-up emails were also ignored, so I'm assuming I won't be moving forward (it's been about a month of no contact). Really disappointing from an organization like BPI!
