      Trainee Chartered Accountant Interview

      20 Apr 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Blick Rothenberg in Dec 2020

      Interview

Very sociable and down to Earth company, and this definitely came across in the interview process. There weren't too many steps, it felt very personal and they were very quick with response times. There were a few tests to do but nothing too difficult.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Who is your role model and why?

      Trainee Chartered Accountant Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Blick Rothenberg (London, England) in Jan 2021

      Interview

The Interview Process was Efficient, Effective, and Friendly. The first Stage was Psychometric Tests (Kenexa) and a Video Interview which you submitted via email. After this, the company was quite efficient in getting back to me in a timely manner and I was invited to the Assessment Centre (Held online due to Pandemic), which was an exciting experience. The AC Consisted of: A Group Task (had to assess a company for some errors and discuss what the root causes were and what services the Firm could provide to the company in Question). We then had an interview with a Manager and Senior Partner (who were SUPER friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wanted the best from you and the entire interview was on blind recruitment - hence everyone had a fair chance). After this, we got to ask questions to the current Trainee and were also given a wonderful presentation on the training program provided by BR. In the end, we had a short email exercise, where we had to write back to a client, asking them to send through more information for us to provide them with specific services. Overall, a stress-free, friendly, welcoming process in which BR really wants to bring out the best in you, rather than trying to catch you out. The Questions asked in the AC: 1- Tell us about yourself? There are some follow-up questions from your experiences on your CV. 2- Why BR? 3- Tell us about this role and why ACA? 4- If you were in a meeting with a client and they forgot to give you information that you had asked for, what would you do? (Speak about getting your manager to intervene/if possible re-schedule, reminder email to the client). 5- What is the typical role of an Auditor? 6- If you audit a client and the client is in need of another service which BR provides, but they are thinking of going elsewhere, how would you approach this? (Speak about telling them about the service and asking them to contact the relevant manager/mindful of conflict of interest etc.) 7- Typical Day/Work for an Auditor 8- If a colleague is not keeping up with their work, how would you deal with them? (Speak about speaking to the colleague on a 1-2-1 basis, get managers involved) That's all I could remember, but it's worth knowing the Auditing profession role, ACA, about the company.
