Bottom Line (CT) interview questions

I had an interview with the HR person about the job in general, then I interviewed with the dept manager. I was originally brought on freelance, but after a few weeks, they hired me full time.

I was recommended for this job by a former co-worker. I sent in my resume and they called me for an interview. I met with two women who shook my hand and said to me -this was the very first thing they said - "Frankly, looking at your resume we don't think you are qualified for this job." I sat there trying to convince them that I was, and asked to do the take-home test. When I got home, I started to think, "Was that a stress interview, where they were deliberately unfriendly"? Or did they really not think I was qualified? And if that's what they thought, why did they call me in for the interview? I had to take the day off, and travel to a city I am unfamiliar with - why do that to someone if you think their qualifications are wrong? I decided then that I didn't want to work for people like this. I sent them an e-mail saying that I wasn't going to be taking the test.
