The SQL and Data Engineering rounds were fairly standard, with expected questions in a typical Q&A format.
The assignment phase felt disorganized. An initial task was shared but later changed after a few days. The final version required connecting to a database and creating a dashboard using a BI tool, but no tool access was provided. This posed a challenge, as most candidates don’t have personal BI tool licenses. Providing access would have made the process smoother and more realistic.
Communication from HR was poor throughout. After the first round, I had to follow up myself after a week, only to be told that feedback hadn’t been collected yet. For the second round, my messages and calls went unanswered until I reached out to someone else in the company, at which point I was told the feedback was actually positive.
There was also a second discussion with the hiring manager during the offer stage, which didn’t have a clear agenda and felt unnecessary. It didn’t add value and only contributed to the already slow timeline.
Overall, the entire process took nearly two months, which is quite long. It wasn’t a smooth experience, and there’s definitely room for improvement in communication and candidate experience.
