I interviewed for the student position of French translator at BYU Speeches. It involved meeting with the Translation Project Manager for some standard interview questions, as well as a short translation assessment. I was allowed to use online tools like dictionaries and automatic translators. The content to translate included quotes from the speeches I would translate in the role. I was asked to talk through how I would go about translating it and give them my best translation (within a reasonable amount of time -- a few minutes per quotation).
