I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Brightedge Technologies (San Mateo, CA) in Dec 2013
Interview
Applied through the career center website in the university. The first response is within a week.
1) 48-hour coding assignment: use Java to write a web scraper for a certain URL.
2) Technical phone interview: routine algorithm questions.
3) Behavioral phone interview: very common interview questions like why do you choose this company, how to handle conflict in a team.
4) Onsite interview: 2 technical interviews + a 5.5-hour coding assignment. The technical part is very easy, but the coding assignment is kind-of mission impossible. The assignment is similar to the 48-hour one but much harder. They asked to write a web crawler that works for multiple sites. During the whole day, none of the interviewers were senior engineers or managers. They put people in a mission impossible coding assignment since they don't have a clear idea what they want to test. The whole interview went from 9am to 7:30pm, which was extremely horrible.

I applied online. I interviewed at Brightedge Technologies in Jun 2017
Interview
A phone interview, a coding challenge, another technical phone interview(coding exercise) and onsite.
I gave three of these and then got the rejection. At first, it seemed very promising and I liked the company work. But very illogical rejection from the recruiter. In the third round, I was given the coding challenge which was very easy but weird thing is the illogical rejection.
