I was contacted by the recruiter through LinkedIn (I did not apply). After talking with her on the phone, I decided to continue with the 1st phone interview. I spoke with the Director of Product Management and had quite a good conversation, getting to know the company, what he does and the company's effort in security. A couple days later, the recruiter asked me for availability to do a 2nd phone interview with the CTO.
The interview schedule hit a little bit of a snag, having the CTO canceling the interview TWICE, one in the last minute. Finally I setup a phone interview on Sunday morning (you read that right!). The interview was supposed to be 30 minutes, but went almost 1 hour. The conversation went great, mind you, and the discussion was pretty open.
So after the talks with the recruiter, Director of Product Management and the CTO and each went very well, I had a good feeling on this. Lo and behold, 2 days later, I got a canned rejection letter. I am a bit surprised, given the above, but it is their choice I guess.
I was hoping that the recruiter will at least give me a brief summary of the reason on why I was rejected, given the time I spent with them (Interview on Sunday morning?).
