Received an invitation to a meetup of potential interns, which turned out to be an drinking party with staff. HR had no idea who I was, despite travelling internationally to attend. Every employee there gave the same scripted answer to initial questions about what it's like the work there, almost word for word. Each already employed intern gave an identical shpiel about how they were treated like part of the team and given a workload to match it. Were hesitant to admit they were unpaid. When asked what software they use for marketing, no one answered "ours". Nobody from the department or even the office I was applying for (development roles were in Rotterdam, shindig in Amsterdam) attended Left as quick as I could. Reminded me of "Children of the Corn". Very weird experience. Plenty of free booze.
