Had a negative experience with the HR staff who called me on Thursday. She asked me if I was free on Friday or the following Monday for an interview. I told her that I was okay with either date and she welcomed me to drop her an email if I had further questions about the company. After the phone call, I did some research on the company and sent her an email which was ignored. When I called her back on Monday to check if she had received my email, she told me that the company was still in the midst of shortlisting candidates, which was a glaring inconsistency with what she told me (i.e. the company had already planned to schedule interviews for shortlisted candidates on Friday and the following Monday). My main issue with this process was that both my time and her time was wasted, since I had to plan my schedule around the two days in the event that I received other interview opportunities with other companies. Moreover, it would not be difficult for her to reply to my email to let me know whether I was shortlisted or not (take less than 2 minutes from her schedule)
Advice to Management: Please hire better HR staff since they represent the face of your company. I hope that future candidates won't have to go through the same experience as me since this may adversely impact their decision as to whether they want to work for your company.
