Overall the interview process was positive, and traveling to the office location was smooth thanks to the clear guidance from the company. It was a fruitful discussion with the hiring team to discuss about my past experiences and got too understand better about the role too.
The interview was scheduled for 2pm but didn’t begin until 3pm, with no explanation for the delay. This long wait set a poor tone and suggested a lack of respect for the candidate’s time. During the interview, it was clear the interviewer hadn’t reviewed my resume, and the questions asked felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive. The overall experience raised serious concerns about the company’s culture and professionalism. If you're not genuinely interested in the role, it's best to reconsider attending the interview.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at COIM Group (Deptford Township, NJ) in Mar 2024
Interview
The interview process started with a general one on one with the hiring manager. They asked general work based questions and also personal questions about work preferences. From there the next stage was an interview with other employees I would work with from other parts of the company. Many of the same questions were asked. Finally the last part was an in person interview and tour of the facility. During this part I was given more information on the work day, benefits, how the business operates, what equipment is available and then asked what additional equipment would be needed. We discussed testing standards and performance of some products they are looking to design. I was not required to formulate/discuss exactly what I would do for a product which was a great sign, since you should not be doing actual work during an interview.
