I applied online. I interviewed at Calico (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2014
Interview
Interviewed with the Store Manager, then with the Regional Manager. Received a call from the Store Manager, then she asked me to come to the store to interview. A few days later I was set up to talk to the Regional Manager. The entire process was easy and friendly. Both ladies were very professional.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Calico (Rockville, MD) in Nov 2013
Interview
Initially responded to job opening on the company website by e-mailing a cover letter and resume. Was called within 3 days by the Store Mgr. Set up interview for the next week. Interview took place in the store on the sales floor. There was a specific interview process and she had to ask each and every question that was on the form, even if they were answered during the course of another question. I had to also complete an application and repeat what was on the resume. There was a design test using a given fabric. The test was how well you coordinated that particular fabric (which was to be used on a sofa) with other fabric you selected from within the store, which would be used on other furniture and window treatments in the room. That was fun.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Unexpected: If you're on your lunch break in the store and a customer you have been working with comes in, would you leave your lunch? Well, who would say "No, I would continue eating". Just seemed like a silly question.
