The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Caltrans in Apr 2012
Interview
The interview process was very rigid, seven questions which were asked to all candidates over thirty minutes. No follow up questions (I suspect they were not permitted) throughout, and lots of writing going on while the interview took place. Once the "Do you have any questions for the panel?" question was asked, the interviewers finally were allowed to have personality and were all very nice people. Quality folks, I just wish I had been extended an offer - but all part of the game.

Very extensive and very comprehensive interview. There is a writing section and a panel interview. It does take a while to get a call for an interview. Definitely need to study for this interview.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Caltrans (Fresno, CA) in Feb 2022
Interview
Webex interview with a panel of three senior environmental planners at Caltrans. They all seemed to be very serious prior to the interview, so I felt a bit intimidated. After the interview was complete they opened up a bit.
