Interview
Technical interview, must very good with accounting and finance terms. Know valuation in depth and be ready to be put on the spot. Overall, you must know terminology. A lot of what if questions. You must also analyze financial statements.

Interview
firstly ask me some basic background question. they are satisfied. I told them that I am a fundamental investor and I know the B/S and I/S and CF, but I would probe into the fundamental of the business . the Financial is the result, you need to project the future. they said OK, but they just do the outsourcing work for the other investment firm.
the second round is interesting, I have been given some easy questions like one company has the EBITDA like this and the market value of stock and things, and ask me whether one acquisition is diluted or not.
in my previous experience in M&A we will use FCFE and FCFF as the benchmark, and usually diluted or not we will use the P/E not EV/EBITDA, and plus, cash and equivalent is not there , so the decision will be a mass without critical thinking and questions asked.
but of course they donot listen, it seems weird to me , as who will pay for the conclusion from canalyst. so I dig a little bit about the company.
never mind now. it doesn't matter.

I applied online. The process took 9 months. I interviewed at Canalyst (Vancouver, BC) in Aug 2020
Interview
I heard back 8 months after applying to schedule an interview in two days. After confirming my availability, I did not hear back from HR for another week. I reached out and was interviewed on the same day. Round 1 was a technical and behavioral interview. I answered 90% of the questions correctly (generic breaking into wall street stuff). I received an email for the second round moments after the interview. Round 2 was behavioral. A few days later I received a rejection for weak technical skills. I reached out for feedback and heard back from HR two months later indicating I was just not the 'right fit'
