4+ Hours of Interviews and Then Nothing
I sat through 4 hours of interviews with several of their team members. 3+ hours of investigating the role to showcase a mutually beneficial fit. Every interview went well. It was easy to see that I was a fit for the team and for the owners of the company, at least in the interview process they made it seem like I was. They asked for my references, but they never called them. I messaged my references that a call could be coming but was embarrassed when my references all reached out that they were never once contacted. What a tone deaf and cruel thing to request, only to not use.
It was all going great until they went dark for a few weeks and when I reached out to ask if there was an update on the hiring, while I was vetting other offers, I was directed to move on to my other offers, even though I received zero feedback. It was a rude and dismissive tone of the email that hurt. I really wanted to work at Capacity Studios but seeing that their "friendly and family style" persona was only a front, that really took the wind out of my sails. Needless to say, they played friendly at the beginning and then quickly soured and pushed me aside like I was bothering them to ask for an update.
After another few weeks they did submit a "you are not hired...oh well" email to me. Zero response or feedback as to why they were passing on me. Only generic responses.
Beware of this company. Any company that would make a person go through 4+ hours of interviews only to give them a cold shoulder for asking for an update is a telling sign of their true selves.
I will not lie. This one hurt a bunch. I wanted to be a member of their team. I worked my butt off for the interviews and also worked my butt off to research them and their clients to better understand their needs.
For such a long process they should pay those they interviewed for the hours they force you to put in for the job. I will send them a bill.
