      Operations Manager/Senior Operations Manager Interview

      7 May 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CarMax

      Interview

Recruiter was great...First round peer-to-peer was great...AVP was great...Felt very positive and things were moving quickly...Then nothing. I waited about 2 weeks to email the recuiter a polite follow up. She said the AVP had been on vacation and I should hear soon. Another 2 weeks passed, still nothing. I sent a final follow-up, never heard back. I understand there is a new CEO and needs change, but radio silence after reaching an AVP interview is quite disrespectful in my book. Unfortuantely, reading through these listings it appears this is all too common. I hope CarMax does better in the future.
