Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How did you deal with a difficult situation and what did you do to overcome it?
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Centene (Lenexa, KS) in Jul 2013
Interview
This position is for Sunflower State Health Insurance Plan, a subsidiary of Centene Corp.
I was contacted by a recruiter via email inquiring about my interest. I replied but did not hear back for several weeks. I contacted the recruiter via a phone call and was advised my information had been sent to the HR department. About 10 days later, I received an invitation to interview via email from a Sunflower State HR Specialist. I interviewed about a week or so after that in person, with the hiring manager.
The interview was actually one of the best I've had in a long while and I've been interviewing a lot in the past month. I encountered several Sunflower employees while I waited for my interview. The employees were friendly, cordial and professional. I really could see myself as part of their team. The hiring manager came to get me for our interview which took place in her office. I was asked to talk about my responsibilities at the positions listed on my resume', thus the interview was about me talking about my experiences and team leader/member positioning. The interview was really a conversation as opposed to behavioral questioning/interrogation. I didn't have the feeling that some negative discovery or verbal misstep was being sought out, to eliminate me from the process. I genuinely felt like the manager was getting to know me and she allowed the opportunity for me to get to know her.
All in all it was the best interview experience I've had in a while. The hiring manager let me know that there would be a decision made the following Monday (I interview on Thursday). It is Tuesday and although I hadn't expected to hear anything from her personally, I will contact the HR department for a follow up later today.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were no difficult questions, as a matter of fact, I basically did most of the talking. I think the most difficult part of the experience was knowing that the hiring manager interviewed a lot of people. At the conclusion of the interview, I was advised that several more individuals were going to be interviewed on the same day she was making her decision.
