I felt the interview process was quite fair and relaxed. I met with the Manager of Clinical Practice (MCP), Manager of Quality Control and the Executive Director all of whom provided a comfortable atmosphere in which it felt more like a get-to-know-you than an interview. I was able to reflect on my career experiences and apply them to their questions without feeling as though I was taking up their time. Once clinical knowledge was established early in the interview through answers to questions applicable to pt situations, I honestly felt as though it was just a meeting between 4 nurses discussing different experiences throughout their careers, and that feeling remains currently. I feel that managers need to be able to trust that you have strong critical thinking skills as well as overall strong management of yourself (time, skills, communication, etc.) for a mutual respect of nursing practice to exist.
