Dogged a bullet here! A month after applying, I was contacted by a recruiter to schedule a video screening. For an initial interview, that was interesting considering 99% of the time, first screenings are conducted by phone, though I understand times are evolving. It was a basic interview going over my skills, the role, and the company, all of which I know I was well-equipped to answer. The recruiter seemed disinterested (as others have pointed out, too). At the end of the interview, she explained this would be a FIVE-STEP process! I knew I wasn't moving forward anyway because she told me she'd share her feedback with the hiring manager and has no input on the next step (which would be an IQ test). I've never "failed" an initial screening before, so this was definitely on the recruiter. I received an email with a rejection. Remember: everything happens for a reason.
