The interview process only took about 2 weeks and consisted of a video conference phone screen with the hiring manager, a series of video conference interviews with team members and a coding exercise. The coding exercise was straight forward and the individual team member interviews were awesome. I really enjoyed the interview process.
Interviews were not technical in nature and seemed to be geared toward a company culture fit (previous experience working remotely, tools used, mentoring and learning etc). All interviewers were forthcoming and open; I had the feeling they expected many questions.
Chef is a fantastic company and packed with incredibly smart people. I haven't been this excited about a company in a long time so the outcome was very disappointing.
