This hiring has wasted 1 month of time.
I was contacted by HR for SDET-II position. After discussing compensation and everything, HR explained me the whole selection process. It was consisting of five rounds.
-Online Hackrank Test (Duration : 1hr, 17 MCQ + 2 Programs): 70% Passing marks
-Two Technical Rounds
-Managerial Round
-HR round.
In online test, was able to do one program and all MCQ. Got confirmation from HR that I have cleared and first technical round interview was scheduled over Zoom.
First round
After intro duction Interview gave me one end to end scenario amd asked me tell all posible positive and negative cases for it. I explained all possible positive and negative test cases . Then He asked me to write a program in online notepad and I wrote the program and expained the whole logic to him to him by doing a dry run. Then he asked me some Linux commands, SQL queries and I answered all. Interview ended and next day received confirmation from HR for second round.

Till this point HR was very active in terms of communication.
Second round.
Interview asked me about my current work, role and responsibilities. He asked me about programming language and then asked me to open an online editor of same language {I selected JAVA}. He told me to write a program which finds names of all candidates who has scored second highest marks.

Writing a program in online editor is always difficult as compared to IDE because online editor does not provide suggestions , no compilation error message. I have to import all required packages and write whole program withount any help. Finally I wrote the whole program. There was an error at one line in program. Interviewer asked me to google it and make it run. I did and program executed flawlessly.
Then interviewer told me that he is running out of time. I asked him does he want to connect again. He said he is good and next round will be conducted. He sounded very positive at the end
I must say second was better than first round of interview.
I informed HR about completion of second round and asked for feedback.
Here comes the twist in hiring process which Company claimed to be transaparent and refine.
HR didn't reply on my mail for feedback. Tried to reach HR over mobile phone, But alaas.. No luck, HR kept disconnecting my call. Again tried to reach her after 10 days, but no reply.
Finally after two weeks, I got email from HR that they have hired candidate who was more matching the requirements. and I was rejected. Thats it...
This whole precoess raises many question about hiring process for Chegg.
No proper feedback that why I was rejected.
If there is mismatch in requirements why they proceed with hiring process. This whole process has taken around 1 month of time.
If I was not selected then why I was kept in darkness for weeks.
After rejection mail, again tried to reach HR to know what went wrong. But it seems they prefer to keep things in dark.
I am damm sure that I have cleared the second round. I don't know what fishy things are happening in company and who all are involved in it.
