I was interviewed by a total of 4 chess.com employees in the span of 3 weeks. 3 of them were the teamlead for different engineering teams, one was the CTO. My technical expertise and history was questioned dilligently, but that was only the smaller part of the interviews. The bigger part was actually to get to know me as a person and to explain the company culture and details of the role I applied for. The interviews were all very pleasant, everybody I talked to was very friendly and it felt more like a chat between IT Nerds than an actual interview. They were also very upfront about some of the challenges I might face in the role and were not trying to "upsell" the company or role to me.
