I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cisco (Raleigh, NC) in Feb 2017
Interview
Met a Cisco rep at a campus recruitment event. The guy hyped me up for the network engineer position even though I didn't have great experience with networks specifically. He told me they were looking for transferable skills.
I interviewed a week later, and the interviewer was a young software developer who was arrogant and acted like he did not want to be there. The questions were very technical, which surprised me after my conversation with the rep. He asked a combination of puzzle questions and very specific networking questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If you could cut a donut 3 times, what cuts would give you the most pieces?
I applied online, heard back with in a week, initial recruiter screening, manager interview, technical panel interview, then manager interview again. Technical was a mix of fundamentals and a couple of pretty challenging ones to know off the top your head.
Very casual, unorganised interview. Interviewers talked for the majority and had no idea who I was before the interview i.e. didnt review my CV or experience. Any questions seemed very odd the cuff and unrelated to the job in question.
Very thorough and detailed. Expect in depth questions and be ready with reasonings. I did find it difficult at some points but overall i did prepare well. If you remember your past experiences and concepts you won’t find it that much difficult.
