      IT Engineer Internship Interview

      20 Mar 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer

      Application

      I interviewed at Cisco

      Interview

I first heard about this position at a university career fair. They were impressed with my resume and was scheduled for an interview the next week even though I wasnt from the hosting school. Took a three hour train to the interview, which went pretty well, typical leadership questions and also the discussed the different fields in which the IT engineers worked on. Things were laid back and nothing felt tense. Couple of weeks later im scheduled for a second phone interview with a manager in California. The interview was almost identical and went well. Couple of weeks later im scheduled for a THIRD interview, this time over a webcam. The interview was probably exactly the same as the two other ones, by this point I felt like the cat was in the bag. In couple of weeks I get an email to inform me that I was not selected to move on to the next round of interviews, really a fourth interview?

      Question 1

For me no technical questions were ever asked, just what sort of leadership and presentation skills I possessed.

      Interview

Phone interview screening: Someone from HR contacted me and ask me a few questions about myself, my interests, university, etc. 1:1 interview with someone from the team: The interviewer wanted to know more about my skill sets and my knowledge about the company. Assessment center - Group interview with other 20 candidates some of them applied for different roles. Went to the office dressed up and spent the entire day there. We had a welcome presentation where managers introduced themselves and we learned more about the company. Then, I had a 1:1 with the hiring manager. He was really nice and made me feel welcomed. We talked about my background and skills and the things that I knew about the company. Then I had another 1:1 with 2 members of the team and it was the same type of questions. Finally, I had a 30 min test. HR called me after 2 weeks and I accepted the offer
