      Interview

After I applied for three positions at Cisco, I was requested to take online assessment which takes 90 minutes to finish. Right after I completed the assessment, I was contacted by a recruiter to have a phone interview with a Sr. Software Engineer. During the interview, I was asked about what I did as an intern, walkthrough a past project and what rest API is. I was pretty shaky as I was super nervous. I received the rejection email pretty soon after the interview.

      Interview questions [3]

      Question 1

What did you code during your intern.

      Question 2

Pick a project on your resume and explain. I don't care which one.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Cisco (San Jose, CA) in Mar 2017

      Interview

At first I was contacted by a Cisco recruiter (Marjory Remy, later I was communicating with a different recruiter for all the interview scheduling) through Linkedin, soon after that an interview over Webex was scheduled and went pretty well. The second interview which took place one week after the first one was again over Webex where I was interviewed by 3 different people and was given a coding task to be completed within 2 hours after the interview. I hadn't been told before the interview that I would need 2 additional hours after the interview for the task, so I had to make some urgent adjustments to my schedule for that. A few days after I was told that the hiring manager wanted to continue with an onsite interview and was asked for my availability ASAP which I provided. One day after I was contacted by a recruiter and was told that the hiring manger wanted to hold off with continuing the interview process and was told that I can contact Marjory (who was out of the office at the moment for any further steps). Funny thing I got contacted by Marjory through Linkedin pretty soon for the same position by mistake, I asked her then both through email and Linkedin about the status of my interview process but never got a response back which is utterly unprofessional in my opinion since I spent quite some time interviewing with them and could at least get a short message back.
