      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at City Furniture (Tamarac, FL)

      Interview

I applied for the Sales Manager in Training position. I passed the assessment test. I got called for a face-to-face interview. The interview went well. it was supposed to last 30 minutes, I was there for more than an hour...... an indication that I was liked by the interviewer. During the interview, she took my license number and social security number for a background check, another indication that I was going to get the job offer. The interviewer told me she will call me the following week once she gets my background results. long story short. Exactly one week later, I received a letter from HR stating " Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to consider you for the Sales Manager in Training position. Although your qualifications are impressive, we have decided to pursue other candidates who more closely fit our current needs". I know it wasn’t my background check because I am clean. Let me remind you, the only reason I got that phone call for an interview because I was a good fit. I was very disappointed because I truly think I was being considered for the position. I was planning and organizing so I can be ready when I get the phone call. I was looking forward to joining City Furniture Company. but why would she do that? Why would someone go out of their way to make a person believe that they will get the job when she knows for sure they were not going to hire that person? That is so deceiving, isn't it? That one hurts, it really does.
