The process took 2 months. I interviewed at City Year (New York, NY) in May 2012
Interview
The 1st interview was through the phone and was 20 or 30 minutes. They asked straight forward questions to get to know you such as:
Why do you want to do City Year?
What are you strengths and weakness?
What is personal and professional goal?
Give an example a good and bad experience working in a team.
The second interview asked almost all the same questions so there are hardly any surprises.

Question 1
Name three adjectives that best describes you and how will you implement that in working with City Year?
Very simple. Quick virtual interview and pretty simple questions. Research their values and what not and you should be good to go. As far as I remember it was a single interview and decision is relatively soon after that.
Really friendly and welcoming. Try to make it as comfortable as possible and share about the work they do. They want to ensure applicants are making the right decisions and that they assess the values.
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at City Year
Interview
Done over zoom and not an overly long process interviews are usually conducted by the IM for a school in the city you are applying for but if you have a pulse you should be fine
