I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at City Year (Boston, MA) in Oct 2012
Interview
Phone Interview and Skype Interview
The questions were fairly similar for both interviews. Each time I was asked about difficult situations I had to overcome, strengths, weaknesses, etc.
I got the phone interview and then a week or so after that I was offered a second interview over skype (it would have been in-person but I was out of state)

Question 1
What was a time you disagreed with leadership in a professional setting? How did you handle it?
Very simple. Quick virtual interview and pretty simple questions. Research their values and what not and you should be good to go. As far as I remember it was a single interview and decision is relatively soon after that.
Really friendly and welcoming. Try to make it as comfortable as possible and share about the work they do. They want to ensure applicants are making the right decisions and that they assess the values.

Interview
Done over zoom and not an overly long process interviews are usually conducted by the IM for a school in the city you are applying for but if you have a pulse you should be fine
