I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at City of Rosenberg, TX (Rosenberg, TX) in Feb 2022
Interview
Received an email from the HR department less than a week after applying, informing me the interviews would be held on "X" date and to book one of the available times on their scheduler.
On the day of the interview they were running behind so I waited 30 minutes to be called in. Wasn't a huge deal for me, I understand that things can come up unexpectedly and people will run behind schedule sometimes. However, at the end of the interview when I asked about the hiring process moving forward and a time frame of when I can expect to hear an update, they simply said they'd reach out soon and to feel free to contact them if I didn't hear back by the following week. I followed up with a thank you email later that day, waited until the following week, and sent out another email to see if a hiring decision had been made. No reply back. A couple of days later I call and the HR generalist tells me by that Friday they will have a decision made and will send out notifications. That never came. I understand not replying to every applicant at the start given the volume of people. But if you've called someone in for an interview then they should be able to hear back whether they got the position or not. I understand only one person is getting an offer and job candidates must continuously put out applications for other opportunities, but ghosting interviewees is still unprofessional. Please just be honest and direct with us.
