I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Civica (London, England) in Sept 2023

      Interview

What a poor experience. I was reached out to, based on my experience as per my LinkedIn profile, said they were keen to discuss an open vacancy selling their SaaS solutions. I replied within 5 minutes expressing my interest and keenness to discuss the potential role and asked when would be a suitable time. I’ve followed up 3 separate times and asked why I’m being ‘ghosted’ but no response. These people have no idea how unprofessional it is promoting an opportunity and then completely ignoring you after you respond. If this is an insight into how they treat employees, then I’m seeing it as a bullet dodged rather than an opportunity missed.

      Business Development Manager Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Belfast, Northern Ireland
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Civica (Belfast, Northern Ireland) in Aug 2021

      Interview

I received a phone call for this role after declaring an interest in Civica a year prior. The process was long, it took 3 months in total as numerous members of staff were on Annual Leave at various points throughout the process. I don't really accept this as an excuse for it taking so long, there were multiple occasions where I was promised calls back/feedback and it was never received and I spent a majority of the 3 months chasing them. This will be unsustainable in the current competitive job market and potential employees will not wait for them. - Initial Conversation with Recruiter - Written Assessment - Call with Managing Director - Fireside Chat - 2 Hour Work Sample Exercise - Personality Profiling - Psychometric Testing - Final Interview This process is quite frankly, overkill for a BDM role and I would advise anybody thinking about going through this process to think very wisely beforehand. Civica are rated highly on Glassdoor, which is what attracted me to proceed with them. However my experience was enough to strongly advise any other individual against doing so. The most insulting part of spending days and hours on this process, was that I felt the reality was that the decision maker really isn't interested in anything other than the final interview stage. When I eventually got feedback on my interview, I was told that I didn't get it because I did not have enough local connections. Something which could have easily been asked at the very start. Civica informed me that they wanted to try and find me something else in the company, but once again communications dried up. I've now took a role elsewhere and will just look back at this as a colossal waste if my time. I'll also be much more careful in future before entering into such a lengthy recruitment process.

      Question 1

2 Hour role play session with an actor pretending to be from an IT company was one part of the many.
