I applied online. I interviewed at Clipboard in Jun 2026
Interview
This company is a professional time waster and recommend I'd avoiding going through their interview process.
SWE interviews have little to no human interaction for the first stage. You're tasked with completing a code based assignment, it's very straightforward and somewhat easy to complete but will occupy some time. If you pass, you're scheduled for a followup interview with an engineer. I had to wait 2 weeks between the submission and interview, and Clipboard made me interview with an engineer in Poland at 1am (local pacific time) for this followup. I'm based in the same location and timezone as the actual company, this was a ridiculous disrespect of my time, and my point of contact at the company disregarded my requests for an interview that actually respected working business hours.
After passing the followup interview, I was tasked with creating a substantial technical design document related to the codebase from the first assignment. This is not a quick task, it took me some time and research. When submitting this assignment, they note that the followup interview will be cancelled if it doesn't meet their requirements. I passed this stage and got the followup interview. During my followup, there was no indication that what I had submitted was incorrect or that I wouldn't advance to the next stage. The following day, I received a rejection stating: "At this point, the specific role, in conjunction with the company stage, context, and existing supporting team may not be the best place to set you up to succeed. Our reasoning has as much to do with where we are as a company at this moment in time as anything else."
This process was a complete waste of my time, took a ridiculous amount of my time, and barely involved any human contact at all. In total, this was about a month long process.

Question 1
Complete a code based assignment+ full technical design document
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Clipboard in Mar 2026
Interview
I completed a take-home assignment that required implementing the top three workers and workplaces from a Git repository I had cloned. I received a generic rejection letter, and I’m unsure what went wrong. I followed the ReadMe guide exactly as described, assuming they were looking for someone who adhered to the specified requirements. I plan to ask about the scoring metrics next time, but I feel it was a waste of time.

Question 1
They ask me to do a git clone of their repo and submit a take home assignment
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Clipboard in Nov 2025
Interview
I got a take-home before meeting any one create a report that console logs the report, then I finally met someone, After another take-home to create a technical design diagram. I spent 2 days writing it. They did not read it and sent back some AI-generated slop, I can tell as the response directly contradicts what was in my TDD. They farmed 4 days of useless work to not even review my submission. I went through a recruiter; otherwise, it's pointless to even try.
