Got an invitation to schedule a call with a Hiring Manager after approx. 3 weeks after applying on the Careers web page.
During the interview, we went through my experience, the expectations from the CSE, team structure and also, was asked a few technical questions to see if you are familiar with Cloudflare offerings and the general concepts of how it works.
After that, they sent homework - you will need to build a website on any cloud platform (root domain in "example.com" format is required, so unless you already have it, be ready to pay a few $$$), write some code, API calls and complete a number of tasks.
Apart from that, everything needs to be documented (with screenshots, step-by-step instructions and code samples) and submitted for review.
In my opinion, the exercises on Cloudflare are not too complicated, however the prerequisites (setting up the environment, building a website and writing a specific code to achieve the desired result) were the most time-consuming.
After a week or so, I've got an automated (!) rejection email - considering the fact that you spent hours (likely, 10+ productive and obviously, unpaid hours), I think it would be fair to provide personalized feedback about what could have been done better (come on, it takes a few minutes maximum and 2-3 sentences would be sufficient)
P.S. According to the Hiring Manager, the next step with the successful candidate is another technical round with a discussion of your project and one behavioral round.
