      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at College Board (Fairfax, VA) in Mar 2026

      Interview

I had with the hiring manager Gina Muy was probably one of the most unprofessional interviews I have had in a long time for the following reasons: 1) College Board likes to have behavioral and scenario-based question interviews to try to gauge and understand how job candidates predict future job performance. When the recruiter asked me a few of these questions it was done in a pleasant and conversational manner where there was some dialogue back and forth. However, the 45 minute interview with Gina was more like an INTERROGATION and less of an interview. It was not conversational in tone and seemed more confrontational in tone. There was little to no dialogue back and forth. 2) Some of the questions she asked bordered on silly to ridiculous as there was little to no context provided. Even after I asked for more context or clarification on what exactly she was looking for as an example she did not really provide any answers. 3) The 45 minute time allotted for the amount of questions that she asked was inadequate. It should have been at least an hour or longer. I had little time to ask any questions. 4) I had to spend some time reproducing a work communications example as requested. He had indicated that it would be discussed during the meeting with the hiring manager. We barely spent 30 seconds on it. I am not sure what type of impression that College Board was trying to make the interview process but my view was less then favorable. Job candidates should be treated with respect and professional courtesy. This was far from the case with my experience interviewing with the College Board. If any of my employees ever interviewed or treated a candidate in a similar manner they wouldn’t be around for long.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at College Board (New York, NY) in Sept 2025

      Interview

Overall, the interview process was long and involved a lot of waiting in between interviews. College Board ended the process in a very unprofessional manner. I was 1 of 2 finalists for this role and I was stood up for the final interview. I joined the Teams meeting and no one showed up until I emailed the recruiter. The recruiter joined the meeting and told me she wasn't sure what happened. Apparently, the lead recruiter was on vacation but didn't set up his out-of-office correctly and the interviewer had to cancel last minute. When the interview finally happened, the interviewer gave me nothing but positive signals, telling me he liked my chances. I also got a quick reply back from the hiring manager after thanking her for the opportunity. The very next business day I received a rejection email without any feedback or apology for the missed meeting. The lead recruiter finally did get back to me but it required me to email people on the interview panel for feedback. The process was 2.5 months from application submission to rejection email and included an exercise and a total of 5 interviews.
