I submitted my application online and about 3 weeks later received an email from the local Regional requesting an interview at the local showroom. I was so excited as this is the field I wanted to continue to pursue. I have so many contacts and a far-teaching network it took 20 years to build that I bring with me. When I arrived the Regional greeted me and gave me a brief tour and a little of the company history. I was familiar with some of it having done some research and also from seeing the commercials growing up. The people I saw during my tour and open door interview were friendly and smiling. I didn’t really get to witness much of the culture to comment. The conversation centered almost solely around what the job entailed which turned out to be more than the online description and was to be more responsibility and territory than the offered salary would cover. After about 35-40 minutes of conversation, we agreed to circle back at the end of the week to discuss where we stood. Previous to the end of that week, I had attempted to open salary negotiations with no return communications.
