      Senior Principal Engineer Interview

      19 Oct 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Aurora, IL
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Control Solutions (Aurora, IL) in Oct 2018

      Interview

The company is dedicated to motor control and motion control. The job was replacing a manager position and the company was combining the senior engineer and leadership role into one. Job was posted online through Linked In and a few other sites. Recruiters were calling about the position to get me in. I applied and received an interview two days later. The interview was a succession of 30-minute interviews with first two managers, then a person who currently holds the position, followed by one manager from their military contract group and lastly with the Operations manager and hiring manager. The interview kicks off with you signing an exclusivity agreement not to reveal the technology they may be discussing. You will also be asked to submit credentials for their ITAR compliance. I was asked about previous leadership roles and my technical experience. Some situational questions.. I was given a tour where I did not see a well formed lab environment. A lot of old cubicles and unused warehouse space.
