      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Corinex (Vancouver, BC) in Sept 2023

      Interview

First interview as usual, screening. Next interview with two engineers. asked a lot of question , from my resume. And after that started asking about about job requirements. Last interview was with CTO and he asking easy questions, not proffesional questions. It seemed that they had already made a decision whether to hire you or not. they smile in their faces, but in reality everything is resolved, negatively.

Thank you sincerely for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I would like to provide some additional context to offer a more balanced perspective on your review. It's essential to emphasize that we take the process of selecting the right candidate extremely seriously. Hiring the wrong person can significantly impact our culture, morale, and teamwork. Furthermore, I'd like to underscore the fact that our team comprises members from 16 different countries, a source of great pride for us. We firmly believe that this global diversity enhances our problem-solving capabilities and adaptability on a global scale. Additionally, we are fully supportive of newcomers to Canada, recognizing that their English communication skills may not yet be at an advanced level. We conducted a thorough evaluation of your qualifications. During the initial screening, your communication was considered acceptable, especially given its non-technical nature. However, concerns regarding your communication abilities arose during the technical interview. While you possess solid technical skills, the final step in the recruiting process involved evaluating your ability to communicate with our CTO. Considering that the role entails working closely under the leadership of our CTO on a daily basis, strong technical communication skills are crucial. Regrettably, the decision not to move forward with your candidacy was based on the importance of having strong technical English communication abilities in this role, which goes beyond everyday communication. We acknowledge your potential for improvement in English skills and had explained that we would consider you for future non-customer-facing roles once they became available. I apologize if our smiles bothered you. At Corinex, we place a high value on creating a welcoming environment and fostering friendly interactions, even with potential hires. Our team's commitment to providing a positive experience is an integral part of our culture. We also respect individual preferences, including those who may choose not to smile. I regret that your candidacy did not progress as you had hoped. Your Glassdoor review further affirms the correctness of our decision. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continuously improve our hiring processes. I want to wish you the best of luck in your ongoing job search, understanding that this can be a challenging and stressful period. Best regards, HR
