The Creative Director (& CEO) is young, doesn't know what he needs, or how to achieve it.
I was asked for my creative input regarding my thoughts about the brand, and then to produce a visual deck with no direction or information on what he wanted to see, or brands he wanted to emulate. I was told it was required to move forward in the hiring process. I have never been asked this by any other employer, my portfolio speaks for itself. I asked twice for a phone call, to get more clarity about the project before starting, with no response. It took a lot of time to put together and when I eventually submitted it I was then told it didn't align with his vision and that they therefore wouldn't be moving forward with me in the role. In the same email, he then listed all his current brand inspirations and what he wanted to see in the deck – which is the information I had asked for and needed BEFORE starting on the deck and never got.
Too many hoops, terrible people skills, lack of communication, BIG waste of time.
